THE ALFRED 6 HOUR IS BASED IN THE PICTURESQUE MOUNTAIN TOWN OF BRIGHT
Bright, North East Victoria, has a great affiliation with cycling not only mountain bikes but road as well with some of Australia’s most popular cycling events including the Tour of Bright and the Alpine Audax Classic. Bright also hosted the Australian Mountain Bike Championships for the past three years.
The Bright Mountain Bike Park continues to grow in popularity with over 60km of dedicated MTB single track all within 5km of the centre of town. The Alpine Cycling Club together with the Alpine Community Plantation group are working hard to establish a world class facility with trails for all abilities that are graded and mapped.
Endurance Mountain Bike events have become the most popular on the MTB calendar, match this type of event with the perfect venue for hosting such an event and the Alfred 6 Hour is born.
WHY ARE WE CALLED THE “ALFRED 6 HOUR”?
The Alfred 6 Hour raises funds to support critical care services at The Alfred hospital.
The Alfred is a leader in healthcare, medical research and clinical education both nationally and internationally.
Emergency and trauma care has been a focus of The Alfred for over a century, and instrumental in the evolution of a world standard trauma service.
The Alfred treats approximately half a million patients every year, and 60,000 people come through the doors of our Emergency and Trauma Centre.
