DATE: 28 Feb 2016
TYPE: Cycling
LOCATION: The Prince Charles Hospital, QLD
DISTANCE: 100km, 75km and 25km
The Cycle of Giving is a cycling event to raise funds for organ transplant research and offers distances of 25, 65 or 100 kilometres. Cyclists hop aboard a charter train to the start line of each distance event, and cycle back to The Prince Charles Hospital. Every breath we take is a gift. This one. This one. Even this one. Currently in Australia, 1 in 10 people have a lung disease that can make breathing difficult. Every breath can be a challenge. Of the millions of Australians affected by some sort of lung disease, nearly 200 at any one time could be waiting for life-saving lung transplant surgery, and plenty more need to be put on the waiting list. Every year The Common Good hosts the Cycle of Giving; a cycling event to raise funds for organ transplant research. The Prince Charles Hospital is one of the leading organ and tissue transplant facilities in Australia, and every dollar raised through the Cycle of Giving goes to supporting cutting edge organ transplant research at the facility. Just $44 powers one hour of critical research at the hospital. You can participate in a 25, 65 or 100 kilometre ride on the 28 February 2016 and help to raise funds for this important cause.
