As Australia's premier female only fun run, the Sussan Women's Fun Run is an iconic Melbourne event.
Every year, on the first Sunday in December, the St Kilda foreshore turns pink as over 6,000 women don their running gear to take part in the Sussan Women's Fun Run. With a 5km, 10km or half marathon course, there is a distance for every fitness level, whether you choose to run the course competitively or simply enjoy it over a walk with friends. There is also a 500m girls mini fun run for 4 – 7 year olds so that the whole family can share in the experience.
Not just a great fun run, the Sussan Womens Fun Run helps raise funds in coordination with Breast Cancer Network Australia.
As well as celebrating healthy lifestyles, the Sussan Women's Fun Run is also a vital fundraising opportunity for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), who have now partnered with the event for 8 years.
In that time, participants have run, walked and sweated their way to raising over $881,000 in funds to support those with breast cancer. Importantly, the Sussan Women's Fun Run is not only an opportunity to raise money for the BCNA, but also to support a friend or perhaps remember someone special they lost to breast cancer.
