Survival Run Australia takes the toughest event you knew previously, and makes it tougher.

Hold up your right hand and repeat after me: “if I get hurt, lost or die, it is my own damn fault”

What is Survival Run Australia?

Survival Run Australia combines obstacle racing, ultra-marathons and adventure racing into one event which is certainly not for the faint hearted. It’s unsupported, so athletes are required to carry all of the hydration and nutritional needs themselves. If you run out, you source more from the natural environment. This is real survival.

Expect to run, climb, swim, cut, crawl and leap your way through some of Australia’s toughest terrain.

As the website states, “SURVIVAL RUN AUSTRALIA is hard and dangerous, don't bring your mom and dad. *This race is for big kids.”

Taking place in Kunghur, near Mt Warning, the event covers areas of the NSW/QLD Border Ranges where Australia’s Army and Special Forces soldiers undertake jungle warfare operations training.

Categories include solo athletes and two-person teams.

If it all seems a bit much, or you want just a taste of the action, check out the Buckley’s Chance Running Festival events supporting the main event.
