The Run for the Firies fun run is the major source of fundraising income for the Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA fire brigades located in the outer North East suburbs of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.
Both Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA brigades are staffed solely by volunteer fire fighters and although the state government of Victoria supply both brigades with some of the trucks and basic fire fighting equipment, anything that is needed by the brigades outside of this needs to be purchased through brigade funds.
The Run for the Firies event is the major source of fundraising income for both brigades and it is through the generosity of you, the public, that we are able to serve the community to the highest standards possible.
