The Island Charity Swim is a unique open-water fundraising event held annually on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Supporting the Sunshine Coast Special Schools, the event offers two main swim challenges: the iconic 10km Island Charity Swim and the more accessible Mooloolaba Charity Swim.
The 10km course, limited to 20 swimmers, takes participants from Mudjimba Beach around Mudjimba Island and finishes at Mooloolaba Beach — roughly 2km offshore. This endurance swim requires each participant to have a paddler and safety boat.
The Mooloolaba Charity Swim, held entirely at Mooloolaba Beach, offers 2.5km, 5km, and 10km options for individuals, duos, or teams. From solo laps to team relays, there’s a distance for all abilities.
Whether swimming to challenge yourself or to support a worthy cause, this event celebrates endurance, community spirit, and inclusion — all while raising vital funds for inspirational local students.
