Maximum Adventure Race Series – Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast event in the Max Adventure Race Series is a team-based adventure race held at Wild Horse Mountain, Queensland, on 25 July 2026. Designed for teams of two, it combines trail running or hiking, mountain biking and kayaking with navigation, creating a varied off-road challenge in a setting known for its maze of pine forest trails and views from Wild Horse Mountain, the most easterly of the Glass House Mountains.

Participants can choose between two course options. The Classic course is the longer challenge, featuring approximately 15-25km of mountain biking, 7-12km of trail running and 2-4km of kayaking, with most teams taking around 4-6 hours to finish. The Novice course is shorter and more accessible, covering about 5-15km of mountain biking, 3-5km of trail running and 1-2km of kayaking, with most teams finishing in 2-4 hours.

Kayaking takes place on the upper reaches of the Pumicestone Passage along Hussey Creek, while kayaks are provided and bike hire is available, making the event suitable for both experienced teams and newcomers.
