Maximum Adventure Race Series – Sydney

The Sydney event in the Max Adventure Race Series is a team-based adventure race held in Royal National Park, NSW, on Sunday 24 May 2026. Designed for teams of two, it combines trail running or hiking, mountain biking and kayaking with navigation, creating a multi-discipline challenge in one of Australia’s oldest national parks. The event is based at Audley, just south of Sydney, with the Hacking River, picnic grounds and park facilities helping create a scenic and practical event hub.

Participants can choose between two course options. The Classic course is the longer challenge, featuring approximately 15-25km of mountain biking, 7-12km of trail running and 2-4km of kayaking, with most teams taking around 4-6 hours to finish. The Novice course is shorter and more accessible, covering about 5-15km of mountain biking, 3-5km of trail running and 1-2km of kayaking, with typical finish times of 2-4 hours.

With kayaks provided, bike hire available and a choice of Classic or Novice formats, the Sydney Max Adventure Race is well suited to both experienced teams and newcomers looking for a supported off-road challenge close to the city.
