The Mt Haig Trail Marathon is a 45km run beginning near Lake Tinaroo, just outside of Cairns.
Prepare to get wet and muddy as the trails include several creek crossings, and challenging hills.
Enjoy views out towards the ocean as well as across towards the tablelands. That should provide an indiciation, but you'll be running up and down the undulations for much of the looped course.
