Run Wollongong is a scenic road running event held in Wollongong, New South Wales, on Saturday 18 April 2026. Set against the Illawarra coastline, the event is designed to cater to a wide range of participants, from experienced distance runners through to families and beginners looking to enjoy a race-day atmosphere by the ocean.
A major feature of the event is its broad spread of distances. Entrants can choose from a full marathon (42.2km), half marathon (21.1km), the Kerryn McCann 10km, the Fitness 5km and the Turbo 2km. The Kerryn McCann 10 honours one of Australia’s greatest distance runners, while the shorter 5km and 2km events provide more accessible options for casual runners, younger participants and those new to organised events.
With sweeping ocean views, fresh coastal air and a strong community feel, Run Wollongong offers an appealing mix of challenge and accessibility, making it well suited to runners chasing a marathon goal as well as those simply wanting to be part of a lively coastal event.
