The course is ideal having a protected Ocean Swim and Flat Ride and Run courses.The Swim is in the Indian Ocean and is a straight line parallel and 30 metres to the shoreline for Junior, Novice and Fun Courses and a rectangle for the Olympic Course.
The Cycle is a lap course of 5km on Cockburn Road.
The run leaves the Transition and follows the Dual Use path south to the 1.25km turn (Novices and Juniors) prior to Woodman Point Jetty and 2.5km turn (Olympic, Fun and Duathlon) past Woodman Point Jetty. The run is entirely on the path parallel to the beach.
