The Sherwood-Indooroopilly Stomp is a 17.7km walk from Brisbane to the Sherwood RSL in remembrance of our ANZACs.
100 YEARS AGO our ANZAC’S landed at Gallipoli! TODAY WE remember them. For those who sacrificed so much comes our commitment to honour the brave soldiers who fell during World War I.
Walkers from the area are invited to join together on Sunday, July 23rd 2017 at the ANZAC SQUARE, Brisbane to walk 17.7km to Sherwood RSL as participants in the Sherwood/Indooroopilly Stomp.
The SHERWOOD/INDOOROOPILLY RSL STOMP route will take you along the Brisbane River, through the University of Queensland, past the St. Lucia Golf course and along honour Ave, the SHERWOOD/INDOOROOPILLY RSL STOMP is mostly downhill and flat, however there are a few challenging uphill’s along the way.
The SHERWOOD/INDOOROOPILLY RSL STOMP is a journey of friendship and support not a race, you will be stomping with other people in a safe and controlled environment with very clear directional signage, and your average speed should be averaging 4-5KM per hour.
Entry is only $25.00 per person.
HELP BUILD A MEMORIAL
During the registration process you will also have the option to purchase a memorial brick that has the name of one of Queensland's fallen soldiers of WW1 engraved on it. At the end of the Stomp these bricks are passed over to the Padre and at the end of 2018 all of the bricks carried in the Stomp and WW1 events will be used to build a memorial at Woodford RS
